As we approach the end of the first three weeks of school, theatre is growing in Malakoff ISD. I am now opening the newsletter to ParentSquare, so families are well informed from the Junior High to the High School over all things theatre as the newsletter will not only apply to HS Productions but also to JH UIL One Act Play!

We have already begun rehearsals for our compelling story! Our actors have been given a memorization deadline, and their roles have been analyzed. Also, our tech crew continues to collaborate on bringing our vision of the March Family to life by comparing other theatre companies' adaptations of "Little Women!" Our show will be rehearsed and performed in the Junior High Cafeteria. We hope "Little Women" to be the last HS production at the JH.

Parents, this is our competition portion of the Junior High school year. Malakoff JH will be performing "The Girl in the White Pinafore" at Quitman HS on December 6th. Based on the true story of the New London, TX school explosion of 1937. Both 1st and 2nd-period Theatre will have a family performance, but only one class can go to the district contest. They need to work together as a class to exceed the expectations given.

Students, you will be given several memorization dates in class for every 6 pages of the show to have memorized by. Here are the dates: pages 2-6 by September 27th; pages 7-13 by October 4th; Pages 14-20 by October 11th; Pages 21-26 by October 17th.
